Red Pea Coat + Happy 2015!

Happy New Year! I know, I know, it's been about a month since I posted - but after many rescheduled photo sessions, the holidays, and school starting back up, it gave me an unexpected break from writing about my fashion life. And surprisingly, it was really good to take a step back and think about realistically where I wanted this little passion of mine to go. I have always put really high expectations on myself, this blog included, and some time away reminded me that this is just something that I do for fun - and if in the process I teach someone something or inspire them, then that is just extra icing on a super yummy cake. And I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions, but I would love to hear about yours!

But enough of my rant, I want to know how ya'lls holiday was and what you got for Christmas! I was traveling over the whole Christmas week, but we had a great time visiting almost every side of the family. So I have dubbed this Christmas, "the Christmas of Shoes." (L.L. Bean Duck Boots, red Hunters, these awesome Steve Madden booties, Steve Madden leopard heels {almost sold out everywhere}, Nine West leather boots, Dolce Vita suede boots, and Nike Airs)  Literally, I have never gotten this many shoes in such a short amount of time! Poor me, I know. The secret is... telling people exactly what you want. That seems obvious, but I know what I want, and I lovee opening my gifts and seeing the things that I have been swooning over for months.

On to the outfit! This is one of my favorite dresses, just a little black dress. But this LBD has tiny gold strands in it - making the details awesome. It also has a great deep V back and flares a lot from the waist (which I love!) - see this post for more. After surfing my favorite blogs back during the holidays, I saw someone pair some floral tights with some boots, and I had an "Ah-ha" moment and I must say, I love the turn out. It's plays up what would be boring tights and yet is still classy. And these awesome booties?! They are half suede and half leather, and did I mention that it has double zippers (that work!)? Like a zipper on the outside of your foot and one on the inside, it's intense but a really cute intense - plus I got them on sale so they ended up being only $90 instead of $150.
